Let’s Try Something New

Hey! Welcome! Despite blogging being around for a long time, it’s still all new to me, so I never know how to start a post off…I hope this will do.

For me, photography started as a hobby. It must have been around 2010. I got myself a second-hand Sony Alpha A300 DSLR with an 18-70mm kit lens and took pictures of anything interesting. I wanted to go to anime and game conventions but life intervened. I met the love of my life, married her 5 years later, had a child 4 years after that…and I still haven’t been! As you can imagine, photography took a back seat but that said, I wasn’t very good back then, in my opinion. I don’t think I’m that good now but I suppose that’s the beauty of it. I’m constantly learning, constantly capturing moments and constantly refining my craft and now, I have more subjects to practice on!

I love them to bits! They keep me on my toes, they keep me feeling loved and they keep reminding me how blessed I am! As our family continues to grow, what better time to take up my photography again?

God is good! He continues to bless us, even though we do not deserve it…

Hence, here we are today - Lumens & Grace Photography. The name is a combination of a word used for light and the glory of God. I wanted to use my passion for photography to glorify and give back to God. As part of my brand and logo, Philippians 4:13 - “I can do all things through him who strengthens me” (ESV). It’s this verse that brought me to where I am today. A loving family, a good job and a great life so far and God is at the centre of it all.
